ASL 2026 Summer Round-Up

These rules apply to every game of the Summer Round-Up at The Stable. Coaches, please read them before game day and share them with your parents.

Game Format

Teams must check in at the headquarters tent at least 1 hour before their first game of the tournament.
Games will be run using a 2-referee system.
Referees will check in all players before the start of each game.
Players arriving after the game has begun must check in at the headquarters tent before entering the field.

Points are awarded traditionally: 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss.
Group stage games may end in a tie — no overtime or PKs during group play.
Knockout games (semifinals, finals, 3rd/5th place games) that are tied at the end of regulation go straight to penalty kicks — no overtime period.
Standings ties are broken in this order: 1) Points, 2) Head-to-head result (two-team ties only), 3) Cumulative goal differential across all group/pool games.

5-team divisions (full round robin): the top 2 teams advance directly to the Final.
3-team groups: the top 2 teams in each group advance to the semifinals, with semifinal winners meeting in the Final.
3-team groups: the bottom-placed team in each group plays a consolation (5th place) game against the bottom team from the paired group.

Only rostered players and coaches are permitted on team benches and in the field of play area.
All other spectators, including parents, must remain in designated parent zones.

Home team wears light-colored jerseys; away team wears dark-colored jerseys.
All players on a team must wear matching jersey colors and numbers.
Goalkeepers must wear a jersey or bib in a color different from both teams' outfield jerseys.
Proper footwear and shin guards are required at all times.
Metal studs and soft ground cleats are not allowed.
No jewelry may be worn during play.
Size 4 balls will be used and provided by the tournament. Only tournament-provided balls are to be used for games.

Parents and coaches are expected to be respectful toward other teams, spectators, and referees at all times.
Anyone who is disrespectful may be asked to leave tournament property.
Any physical or verbal abuse directed at players, coaches, referees, or spectators will result in an automatic forfeit for the offending team.
